You will have heard about the Government’s plans to cut £5 billion from disability benefits. This decision is devastating for families and Carers, and will impact many individuals with disabilities, many of whom are already facing financial challenges and cuts/delays to NHS services, social care, Access to work.

We understand that this news may be concerning for you or your family and if these proposals go ahead many vulnerable disabled individuals will be neglected. Many of whom already work and have the added cost of a disability.

Fightback stand in solidarity with other disability organisations and campaign groups, such as Scope, in strongly opposing these cuts.

It is completely unacceptable that many of our most vulnerable people will be thrown into poverty if these cuts go ahead. The additional costs associated with disabilities make cuts to these benefits intolerable.

If the Government is serious about empowering disabled individuals to enter the workforce, it must invest in our social security system and Access to Work which has a six- eight month delay on assessment in some areas. We will relentlessly assist organisations and advocate against these proposals and continue to fully support disabled people, no matter what transpires.
