How Universal Credit and other benefit payment dates will change over the festive period.

Universal Credit and other benefit payments that were scheduled to be made between December 25, 2024, and January 2, 2025, will be made earlier than anticipated this year, as confirmed by the Department for Work and Pensions.

The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed that some Universal Credit and other benefit payments that are due between December 25, 2024, and January 2, 2025, will be made early.

Those who were supposed to get their Universal Credit payment on Wednesday, December 25th, will now get it on Tuesday, December 24th, and those who were supposed to get it on Wednesday, January 1st, will now get it on Tuesday, December 31st.

During this time of increased financial strain on low-income families, payments for other benefits, such as Child Benefit and Tax Credits, will also be made early.
